Accounting History Review
International Festschrift in Honour of Professor Yannick Lemarchand
Known globally for his research and publications examining accounting, accounting history, history and management, Professor Yannick Lemarchand, professeur émérite en Sciences de gestion at the Université de Nantes, has played a critical role in broadening the boundaries of ‘accounting history’ to include other management disciplines, areas of history and countries beyond the Anglo-Saxon context. Professor Lemarchand also has long-standing ties to Accounting History Review.
He has been a member of the editorial board for many years and has published in the journal in a number of regular and special issues, including his receipt of the ‘best paper award’ on more than one occasion. His ties to the journal have led also to important links between the journal and the accounting and management history community in France. Its own conference which he co-founded in 1995, Journées d’Histoire de la comptabilité et du management, became for many of us a sister to the ‘Cardiff conference’. Professor Lemarchand was named the first president of the Association d’histoire du management et des organisations which brings together researchers across many disciplines with an interest in management history.
It is with great pleasure that we announce an international Festschrift in honour of Professor Lemarchand to be held in November 2015 in Nantes, France. Colleagues from around the globe will present original papers on a topic of their choosing. In keeping with the diversity of disciplinary interests and perspectives, we prefer that contributors propose a suitable tribute based on their research and not frame their presentation as ‘Lemarchand-specific’. The event will include time for discussion and debate, informal gatherings, and a banquet in Professor Lemarchand’s honour.
Selected final papers will be published in a Special Issue of Accounting History Review.
Dates: Thursday, November 12th to Saturday, November 14th, 2015.
Location: Institut d’Études avancées (IEA), 5, Allée Jacques Berque, Nantes, France
This event is a collaboration of Accounting History Review, the Institut d’Études avancées de Nantes and the Centre de Recherche sur l’Amérique du Nord (CREW), Université Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle.
